CPR AED Training

I received recertification in CPR training by the American Heart Association and I thought I’ d share a few tips that should be remembered when ever in need to rescue an adult, child and infant when they are not breathing.

CPR-AED. Steps are a little different with adults/children and infants.

Steps: For Adult/Child only
1. Verbalize that the scene is safe
2. Check for response-tap and shout
3. Yell for help
4. Tell someone to call 911 and get an AED.
5. Check for breathing for 5 seconds minimum
6. Locate hand placement for compressions
7. Delivers first set of  (30) compressions
8. Give 2 breaths with a mask
9. Deliver second set of compressions
10. Give 2 breaths with a mask
11. Complete 5 sets of compressions and breaths
12. Turn the AED on immediately (once received)
13. Delivers third set of compressions of adequate depth

Steps: for Infant only
1. Verbalize the scene is safe
2. Check for response- tap infants foot and shout
3. Yell for help
4. Check for breathing or only gasping
5 Locate hand placement for compressions (Two finger compression)
6. Deliver first set of  compressions
7. Give 2 breaths
8. Deliver second set of compressions
9. Gives 2 breaths
10. Complete 5 sets of compressions and breaths.
11. Deliver third set of compressions of adequate depth.
